    Booklet:

    1. What are some of the props used in the show?

The props used are music instruments and puppet.

    2. Why do you think it is named as the Water Puppet Show?

It is named as such because it is shown in the water and there are people at the side playing instruments at the show.

    3. In what ways is the show different than that of a regular puppet show?

It is special because not many people have watched a puppet show that is performed on water. Therefore, it is different because the performers are in the water performing.

    Reflections:

    a) How has the activity led to a change in our attitude about Singapore?

We learnt about the traditional culture and fishing village and myths of Vietnam. We also learnt how to appreciative of what we have. We also learnt to not take everything for granted and to appreciate what we have. Singapore has four different cultures, and makes us happy about the diversity of cultures in Singapore.

    b) What are the good practices that we learned?

We should be attentive and respect different cultures even though we do not understand the language. We also learned to behave appropriately at the right time. For example, we should move in quickly into the theatre so that we do not slow down others in entering a premise. We should also exit quickly in order to exit smoothly and make it convenient for others.

c)From this activity, what and how can we contribute to Singapore?

After watching the Water Puppet Show, we find that we can help to be more appreciative towards Singapore’s diversity in culture. Also, we must try to appreciate and conserve traditional culture eg the wayang kulit. From this, we think that we can promote culture and increase people’s knowledge. We can also teach Singapore’s culture to students and the general public in order to make them more appreciative about Singapore’s diversity and racial harmony.
